XFX HD667XZAF3 Review by Fibinaci

Very pleased with speed of free delivery and with the product itself. As of this writing(8-31-11) this is the best video card available that does not require a six pin connector. Allows me to run Wow in widescreen on highest settings at 40fps and Rift on high with fps in the high 20s. Fan is louder than just heat sink type versions of this card but no obtrusively so. My only complaint would be with Ontrac, the final delivery company, they left it on my porch out in the open with a big "Amazon!" facing traffic. Go with faster delivery with Ups or Fedex.

As a member of the new class of resurgent PC gamers, I was in the market for a new graphics card that would deliver excellent quality at a budget price. This, with the understanding that if I expand my PC game library and become addicted, I could upgrade to a beefier card at a later time without lamenting how much was spent on my initial card.

After scouring the 'tubes for reviews and information, I ultimately settled on the XFX ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5 PCI-E card, and I am glad that I did for a number of reasons.

One, the price was the best out there for this card at the time of purchase--Newegg.com and TigerDirect.com were running this card at $99.99 and $109.99, respectively.

Two, the card is the most powerful card, NVIDIA or ATI, that you can purchase that will run on your PC *without* needing a discrete power source. While this wasn't an issue for me, as I have the necessary power dongle should I choose to upgrade in the future, budget PC builders that don't care to splurge on a more powerful AC adapter or are looking to build for a cheap kiddo or living room PC would enjoy this card.

Three, the card can still handle the most powerful and new games out there in high settings; Deus Ex--High Settings with 2x AA, Dead Island--High, With 4x AA, and the Witcher 2 (a beautiful, yet obscenely difficult game)--high settings with 2xAA. Additionally, this card is more than sufficient (per available specs) for the new games coming out this fall: Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City, and Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim all have recommended (not minimum) specs that this card either meets or exceeds.

Four, thanks to the ATI software, one can control fan speed (and thus, fan noise) and has the option of overclocking the card in a rather safe manner. No, it doesn't remove risk from the equation entirely, but it does make it manageable, especially with the price of the card.

Five, while I haven't needed to use it myself *knocks on wood*, friends swear by XFX's support for their products. After hearing stories of XFX being more than reasonable with returns, actually having quality customer service on their phone lines, and not giving gamers any hassles, I made it a point to seek out a XFX-branded card.

But don't just take my word for it--Tom's Hardware gives this configuration an honorable mention as the fastest sub-$100 card (no card takes the category) that doesn't need external power.

In the end, this card is a budget PC gamer's dream, and it allows me the ability to upgrade in the future without encountering too much fiscal heartburn for doing so. Highly recommended.

I've always trusted XFX and their company, the graphic cards that they make are high quality and high end Graphics cards, this card I've PURCHACED Is a powerful graphic card. And upgraded It from my XFX HD Radeon 4670, It only took me 10 minutes to Install, and it's compatible With DDR2 Motherboards. I'D recommend up grading the PSU, (Power Supply) to Maybe 500 watt or 600.
I can now play games at high settings, Like Bulletstorm and Metro 2033.

Oh and my Windows Experience Index is : 7.1 for this card on Windows 7.
